CRFA Certification

Cost for the CRFA exam $595

SCRFA engaged a contractor to perform a Job Analysis for the CRFA Certification Division.  The analysis was designed to develop a certification examination program meeting the standards established in The Joint Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing Standards 14.10 and 14.14.

Education Requirements:
24 hours of secondary education where the curriculum is focused on professional financial services (examples: insurance, securities, trusts and income taxes)

Secondary education is curriculum that is focused on practical job skills that are designed to benefit employers and employees.

Group discount are available upon request.

What is the process to become a CRFA?

Outlined below are the tools to become a CRFA.

Our testing requirements are designed to help us recognize your ability to successfully pass our comprehensive exam that covers multiple issues. Following is a list of the six
domains tested and the percentage of test questions from each domain:

Domain I Tax Issues for Retirees 20%
Domain II Investment Concepts for Retirement 22%
Domain III General Retirement Principles 18%
Domain IV Government Programs/ Social Security 13%
Domain V Estate Planning 17%
Domain VI CRFA Ethical Standards 10%
Total Passed 46
Total Failed 17

The Handbook guides the applicant through the  process and provides details for preparing for the exam.

The skills and knowledge a retirement advisor should  possess are listed in the order of  importance.

practices, maintaining a level of competency by earning continuing education
units and objective recommendation of products.
